Study in Pink

Synopsis Sherlock holmes : Study in Pink

Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman, The Office UK) is back in modern-day London after serving in the war in Afghanistan. His therapist, convinced that Watson is plagued by violent memories, urges him to express himself in a blog. But nothing much ever happens to Watson, and it's not that he's haunted by the war — he longs for it. Enter an eccentric roommate — one Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch, The Last Enemy). He plays the violin when he's thinking, sometimes doesn't talk for days, and has a dubious career as a self-described consulting detective. When what appear to be serial suicide cases surface in London, a desperate Detective Inspector Lestrade (Rupert Graves, The Forsyte Saga) reluctantly consults the freakish Sherlock. To Sherlock, a crime spree is like Christmas — only made better by the possibility that these crimes may be the work of a devious serial killer. The game is on, and before it is over, Sherlock will put his life on the line — all to keep from being bored to death. Sherlock is based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes and is co-created by Doctor Who producers Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. (One episode; 90 minutes, TV-PG)

                                                       The Blind Banker

2/3 Can Sherlock and John solve the case of a mysterious and deadly cipher?

Synopsis Sherlock holmes : The Blind Banker

Turns out that living with a genius isn't so easy — just ask Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman, The Office UK). Watson is scrambling to do the errands and find a job while Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch, The Last Enemy) sits around, apparently in deep contemplation. Sherlock seems oblivious, and in no hurry to take a case. When there's been a break-in at a bank, Sherlock inexplicably springs into action. Nothing has been stolen, only indecipherable graffiti painted on a wall. A bank employee is soon found dead in his apartment, the windows and doors locked from the inside, and Sherlock is at full, frenetic attention. An exhausted and hungry Watson (Sherlock doesn't eat while on a case — it just slows him down) watches from the sidelines of a case of which he'll soon inexplicably find himself at the center. Sherlock is based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes and is co-created by Doctor Who producers Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. (One episode; 90 minutes, TV-PG)

                                                 The Great Game

3/3 A battle of wits ensues between Sherlock and a stranger who seems to know all the answers.

Synopsis Sherlock holmes : The Great Game

All the world is reading Dr. John Watson's blog about his adventures with Sherlock Holmes, stunned at the doctor's revelation that the great detective couldn't care less whether the Earth goes around the sun or vice versa.
But then a massive explosion rocks central London, heralding a deadly game of wits between a criminal mastermind and his archrival, Sherlock. Here's how the game works: an innocent hostage gets strapped with explosives, then is forced to call Sherlock and read a message posing a mystery for the detective to solve. As the match proceeds, Sherlock is given increasingly less time to crack the case before the detonator is triggered. The motive? "I'm bored," says the bomber, adding, "we were made for each other, Sherlock!"
The first challenge involves a boy who drowned under suspicious circumstances twenty years earlier. The only clue Sherlock has is the boy's pair of sneakers. Next, he is faced with an abandoned car splattered with a missing man's blood. Then, it's a TV makeover celebrity who had a gardening "accident." And how about a corpse by the Thames that is somehow connected to a recently rediscovered Vermeer painting? Solve that one before the count of ten, Sherlock!
Like a good chess match, the game is not without its setbacks for both sides. Or its gripping end game, which brings together a larger-than-life assassin and a seemingly unrelated case of stolen missile plans. Consulting detective, meet consulting criminal.
