Sejak mengetahui keberadaan vampir dan lycan, pemerintah mulai mengadakan penelitian untuk mencari rahasia kekuatan mereka. Manusia tak ingin ada vampir atau lycan yang tersisa di muka bumi. Perang besar pun dimulai dan kini dua ras superior itu harus hidup dalam ketakutan. Kalau dulu mereka bersembunyi karena tak ingin manusia tahu keberadaan mereka, kini mereka bersembunyi karena ketakutan.
Sebenarnya kekuatan vampir dan lycan jauh melebihi manusia namun bukan itu masalahnya. Ada makhluk lain yang jauh lebih berbahaya dari manusia. Eve (India Eisley), makhluk perpaduan vampir dan lycan ternyata juga lepas pada saat Selene meloloskan diri. Kini Eve berkeliaran bebas dan tak ada lagi yang merasa aman.

Saat mencoba mencari tahu, Arthur Kipps mulai mengenal nama Nathaniel (Ashley Foster), putra mendiang Jennet Humfrye (Liz White) – wanita yang dikenal sebagai the Woman in Black. Jennet gagal menyelamatkan Nathaniel yang tenggelam di rawa-rawa dan kini arwah Jennet bangkit untuk melampiaskan amarahnya.
Judulnya memang sudah menyiratkan kesan horor namun bukan itu yang menarik dari film arahan sutradara James Watkins ini. Ada nama Daniel Radcliffe yang dipasang sebagai pemeran utama dan ini adalah film pertama Daniel Radcliffe setelah menuntaskan tugasnya sebagai Harry Potter.
